Destinations, Castilla La Mancha
Surrounded by the Tajo River, Toledo is known as the city of three cultures due to the strength of its Christian, Muslim and Jewish influences.
Discover the authentic Toledo by the hand of a certified private guide.
A lot to see
It is not surprising that UNESCO has named the historic center of Toledo a World Heritage Site. It is a fascinating mix of different styles and cultures, with churches, mosques and synagogues all together. Enter through one of the many gates in the city’s ancient wall, such as the famous Moorish Puerta del Sol, and stroll through the narrow, cobbled streets. All of them will take you to beautiful squares, including the main square of Zocodover, the old place that was once an Arab market and is still the center of life in Toledo.
Toledo’s cuisine is rich and varied, incorporating flavors from all three cultures and using fresh produce from the surrounding area. Some of the most famous dishes that come out of Toledo include cochinillo and carcamusas, which is beef served in a ragout of vegetables, manchego cheese and marzipan. The old town is full of small restaurants serving traditional food.
Let a certified guide show you around like you could never have imagined.
